Tiree Photographs > Other Collections > Balevullin Beach
Balevullin in Gaelic - Baile a'Mhuilinn - means village of the mill. Check out other place name meanings. The beach at Balevullin is probably the most popular beach on the island; certainly on a sunny summer's day. Each October the Tiree Wave Classic watersports festival takes place. Although the emphasis is on windsurfing there are other activities taking such as kite surfing, sand yachting, surf kayaking and cliff jumping. Balevullin beach featured above is just one of the venues around Tiree where windsurfing events take place. Check out the other pages of images of the Isle of Tiree.
